Red Burgundy Okra was developed and introduced in the 1980s. This attractive pod grows up to 8” long and can be used in a variety of dishes including gumbo, stew, and soup and is even great served fried or roasted.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS: Sow seeds in well-drained soil in a sunny location after the threat of the last frost has passed. These can also be started indoors 3-4 weeks before the threat of last frost is expected. Plant about 1/2 - 1" deep and 12 - 18" apart. You can soak the seeds overnight in tepid water to help speed up germination. If you are planting okra transplants, be sure to space them 1 to 2 feet apart to give them ample room to grow.
