Milk Thistle is commonly referred to as a weed, but it was grown centuries ago as a vegetable crop in Europe. Milk Thistle possesses both culinary and therapeutic properties and the entire plant (buds, blooms, roots, leaves and seeds) is edible. The purple bloom that is produces in the spring and summer is most commonly used in teas and tonics.
